We began our survey of Acts by saying that it accentuates Christ’s exaltation, including his resurrection, more than his death. Now, after examining what Acts says about Christ’s death, we return to our starting place—his exaltation. But this time we stress that our Lord’s exaltation means a great victory for him and his people. Repeatedly, Acts presents Jesus’s death as the unjust verdict of the leaders of God’s covenant people and then juxtaposes it with his resurrection as God’s just verdict,
